Dried Ginger or Saunth

Dried ginger or Saunth has been a traditional herbal remedy for thousands of years in Asian, Indian and Arabic medicine because it contains a higher concentration of two active compounds Shogaol and Gingerol about three times more than in fresh ginger.

It is commonly used as a seasoning agent while preparing ginger breads, cakes, cookies and ginger beer. Powdered ginger should be stored in a cool place in an airtight container.

Medicinally, Dry ginger facilitates weight loss by improving digestion, which helps in burning stored fat and processing glucose in the blood! Its also used in menstrual cramps and nausea!
